The next MIPSE Seminar will be delivered by Prof. Paul Cassak of West Virginia University on Wednesday, March 20 at 3:30 pm in EECS 1005. In his seminar titled “Quantifying Dynamics of Plasmas Out of Local Thermodynamic Equilibrium”, Prof. Cassak will describe a new formalism developed for fluid descriptions of plasma transport when the system is not in local thermodynamic equilibrium. This new approach is based on higher order moments in addition to density, momentum and energy. It will be applied to examples derived from magnetic reconnection and plasma turbulence. Please see attached flyer or (https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://mipse.umich.edu/seminars_2324.php__;!!HXCxUKc!0OFJhkL527fxBOLomwDx9qUu50ZXxMj-_Czb0iKxkzCi9-rNtUaNLUTQo80MRLxDe8sA-8SRyG2cPqvt$) for details.
