Cognitive modeling is not specifically artificial intelligence (AI). AI unlike cognitive modeling seeks to build an artificial brian to the extent that it dupliicates human inttelligence. Cognitive modeling can be used to derive predictive performance based on theory which can be copmared to empiricla data related to actual task performance. This presentation will provide some of the current challenges involved with modeling of cognition and an overview of computer modeling techniques currently in use.
