IEEE Iowa-Illinois Section CS Tech Talk: Quantum Threats to Medical Privacy: Preparing for Post-Quantum Security in Healthcare
Virtual: https://events.vtools.ieee.org/m/512609We are pleased to present a timely and forward-looking discussion on one of the most pressing challenges in healthcare cybersecurity. As quantum computing advances, traditional cryptographic systems — including RSA and ECC — could be rendered vulnerable. In a domain where patient data confidentiality and the reliability of medical devices are critical, preparing for technological improvement is necessary. This session by Herat Joshi and Shenson Joseph will explore the evolving quantum threat landscape for healthcare IT infrastructures, including EHR systems and network-connected medical devices. They will also highlight the latest NIST post-quantum cryptography initiatives and provide actionable guidance to help organizations evaluate their current cryptographic posture and develop a strategic path toward quantum-resilient security. We expect that attendees will come away with concrete insights to be prepared for the emerging post-quantum era.
