[]Video conferencing refers to the conduct of an online meeting between people in different locations through two-way audio and video transmissions. To put it simply, it is like a conversation between two persons (point-to-point) or more people (multipoint) gathering together in a virtual meeting room in order to communicate and collaborate in real time. Besides the audio and video transmission, modern day cutting-edge technologies have hugely expand its functionalities, like screen sharing, file sharing, private rooms, etc. This presentation will detail the history of how video conferencing developed and what are the different underlying technologies which each contributed to it's growth? Here we will briefly talk individual inventors as well. Time permitting we will compare many of the popular video conferencing platforms out there.
