Notice of the 2024 Chapter election cycle for SEM R4. Greetings, It's time to conduct elections for our Chapter and Societies. Please contact me if you are interested in becoming an officer or want to help. This year IEEE has mandated that elections are to be conducted within each chapter and not the sole responsibility of the Section. To this end, each chapter will need to rally an election committee to seek out candidates and to conduct the election. Please see the list of open positions below. All Geo-units (Affinity Groups and Technical Chapters) officers remain as single year terms as shown below. Affinity Groups (all 4) and Chapters (all 18) Chair – assume office on January 1 for a one year term. Vice-Chair – assume office on January 1 for a one year term. Secretary – assume office on January 1 for a one year term. Treasurer – assume office on January 1 for a one year term. Our chapter elections will open on 5 August and close on 5 September. Plan to invite volunteers to seek election. Plan to invite volunteers to become part of the elections committee for the chapter. Duties will be to gather nominee names to add to the ballot below. IEEE Central Illinois Networking Event in Champaign

You are invited to join us on Friday, August 30th, 2024, at the Big Grove Tavern in downtown Champaign, IL, for an informal networking meetup organized by the IEEE Central Illinois Section. This event is open to all IEEE member grades, including students and graduate students. REGISTRATION DETAILS: Registration is complimentary. However, please note that all attendees are responsible for their own bills. Registration ends Thursday night, August 29th at 11:59 PM Central Time, or when all spaces have filled. Visitors must pay to use this lot using an automated pay station in the center of the lot, or have a permit. - Garage Parking: Metered parking is available at the Hill Street Parking Deck located at 123 West Hill St., Champaign, IL 61820. The exit gate accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express credit and debit cards. The expected rate during this event is $0.75 per hour (rounded up). This area is head-in (forward) parking only. - Street-Level Parking: Metered street-level parking is available in the vicinity.
