IEEE-USA IWRC is bringing the CHIPS Act to South Dakota!

1201 West Avenue, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, United States, 57104

[]Innovation takes more than ideas — it takes partnerships. Small business owners, government officials, academic researchers, financers, and others need to work together for our local innovation ecosystem to thrive, but it is rare for those people to be all in one place — until now.The 2024 IEEE-USA Innovation, Workforce, and Research Conference (IWRC) consists of an evening reception followed by a day-long workshop, bringing together stakeholders from academia, government, and industry to bridge the gap between research and commercially viable products. Experts from our region and across the country will discuss research grants, technology transfer programs, start-up funding, intellectual property and a host of other topics related to inspiring and empowering true innovation in the Heartland Region. But most importantly we will bring together the key innovators from the key parts of our local innovation economy in one place to meet, learn, talk, and plan as the CHIPS Act comes to our corner of America.Agenda: Monday, 10 June 2024Time (CT) Session5:30 - 8:00 PM Opening ReceptionTuesday, 11 JuneTime (CT) Session8:00 AM Registration8:30 AM Welcome & Kickoff9:00 AM Opening Keynote10:00 AM Networking Break10:30 AM Breakout Sessions12:00 PM Networking Lunch (provided)1:00 PM CHIPS+ Plenary Panel and Q&A2:30 PM Networking Break3:00 PM Breakout Sessions4:30 PM Sharing Notes: Breakout Sessions Report Out5:00 PM Closing Keynote5:30 PM Adjourn1201 West Avenue, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, United States, 57104

Interdisciplinary Conference on Electrics and Computer (INTCEC 2024)

1 University Pkwy, Romeoville, Illinois, United States, 60446

We are inviting you to attend the 4. Interdisciplinary Conference on Electrics and Computer (INTCEC 2024), which will take place in Romeoville, Illinois during 11 - 13 June 2024 under the organization of Lewis University. Romeoville is located about 35 miles southwest of downtown Chicago, IL and about 30 miles south of O’Hare International Airport. This fourth event will be in hybrid mode, thereby you can present your papers physically or online via a zoom link at the confeence time. The goal of INTCEC 2024 is to gather scientists, engineers and researchers working on electrics, electronics and computer in an interdisciplinary manner. The event is expected to have cutting-edge studies on Electrical and Computer Systems. It will give an international and interdisciplinary media to present the technical studies and discuss the scientific and engineering issues to arrive at more complete systems for the applications of future world. Thus, our theme is "interdisciplinary" approach for the engineering problems on Electrics & Computer Sciences. Agenda: The topics of the conference include (but are not limited to): - Track I: Electronics - Track II: Communication - Track III: Computing and Systems - Track IV: Electrics DEADLINES --------------------------------------------------------------- Full-Text Paper Submission Deadline 15 February 2024 Notification of Acceptance/Rejection (before/on) 15 March 2024 Final Paper (Camera Ready) Submission 10 April 2024 Early Bird Registration 20 March 2024 Late Registration 20 April 2024 Conference Dates 11-13 June 2024 1 University Pkwy, Romeoville, Illinois, United States, 60446

(https://www.ieee-ukandireland.org/chapters/society-on-social-implications-of-technology/) and SSIT IST-Africa SIGHT are cooperating with a number of IEEE OUs including: North Jersey Section SSIT Chapter; Vancouver Section Jt. Chapter,TEM14/PC26/E25/SIT30; New Jersey Coast Section SIGHT; New Jersey Coast Section Jt. IM/Computer Society Chapter, Southeastern Michigan Section Computer Chapter and Phoenix Section Computer Chapter to organise this SSIT Lecture as a joint Webinar on 11 June ‘24. Registration IEEE and SSIT Members as well as non-IEEE Members are invited to (https://events.vtools.ieee.org/m/420067) and participate. IEEE Members should include their IEEE Membership Number when registering. Access to online Meeting Registered participants will be provided with the link prior to the event. Guest Lecture Focus It is an uncomfortable truth for designers and operators of technology that it is increasingly being used by perpetrators of interpersonal coercive-control, for example in cases such as domestic abuse. Moreover, this use of technology does not typically involve hacking in the traditional sense, rather the misuse of often well-intentioned standard features - the design of which usually did not include threat analysis of, for instance, an abusive domestic partner who has access to passwords or manages the device/application in question. Examples include tracking of partners and their children, manipulation of social media while gaslighting to cover what is happening, and utilising smart-home devices to secretly monitor movement. In this session we will update you on our progress towards a recommended practice in the Principles of Design and Operation of such technology to minimise this kind of misuse. Speaker(s): Henry Nash, Agenda: 18:00 (UTC+1) / 13:00 (EDT) Welcome and Introduction to Guest Speaker 18:05 Lecture 18:45 Questions and Discussions Virtual: https://events.vtools.ieee.org/m/420067
