Statistics, Risk, and Cognitive Biases

The use of statistical analysis to gage design and process conformance is common and useful, but only allows valid conclusions when the population subjected to evaluation is representative of the future state of the system or product. High levels of statistical rigor must be paired with robust systemic approaches and a cultural prioritization of truth seeking.
