PES Seminar: Tutorial for Power Quality Analysis & Mitigation

March 21 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm EDT

IEEE PES Central Indiana Chapter is happy to host a technical seminar on power quality given by Mr. Larry Conrad, who has over 40 years of industry experience in power reliability and quality, on March 21 at AES Indaina's Morris Street Office with free food and beverage. One professional development hour (PDH) can be offered based on requests.
Note: This seminar was rescheduled from its original planned date (March 5) due to logistic issues. Sorry for the inconvenience and look forward to seeing you on March 21.
Abstract: Voltage sags occur many times more often than electrical supply interruptions. Sags can be very disruptive when utilization equipment suddenly shuts down due to the momentary voltage reduction. The lights blink, processes quit, and workers scramble to clean up messes, recover, and return to nominal operation. This seminar will explain what sags are, what causes them and how to estimate their frequency and severity. It will also provide known strategies for minimizing and possibly eliminating their negative effects on utilization equipment.
