Modern Perspectives and Challenges in Magnetic Reconnection

Our next MIPSE seminar will be presented by Prof. Nuno Loureiro of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and director of the MIT Plasma Science and Fusion Center. Prof. Loureiro’s talk, “Modern Perspectives and Challenges in Magnetic Reconnection”, will be presented on Wednesday, September 25 at 3:00 pm in 1018 Dow. In this talk, Prof. Loureiro will provide a high level overview of the three major challenges in understanding and predicting reconnection: onset, rate and energy partition
