From KMS Fusion to HB11 Energy, Xcimer Energy, and Fuse Federal USA; A 50 Year Inertial Fusion Energy Perspective

October 30, 2024 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm EDT

Our next MIPSE seminar will be presented by Dr. Thomas Mehlhorn, former director of Plasma Physics at the Naval Research Laboratory and now advisor to fusion startups. Dr. Mehlhorn’s seminar is titled “From KMS Fusion to HB11 Energy, Xcimer Energy, and Fuse Federal USA; A 50 Year Inertial Fusion Energy Perspective”, and will be presented on Wednesday, October 30, at 3:00 pm in room 1018 Dow. Dr. Mehlhorn will provide a unique perspective on investigating the science and developing the technologies that will be required to deliver inertial-confinement-fusion generated electricity to the grid. The roles of national and international, government funded programs, and the private sector in achieving this goal will be discussed.
The seminar will be conducted in person and simulcast via Zoom:
