Electric Vehicle Charging & Cost-Based Rate Design

March 12 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm EDT

This presentation provides an overview of electric utility ratemaking and emphasizes the difference between electric service and other commodities. Electric vehicle charging costs can vary dramatically between between different rate classes and different utilities, depending how various costs of service are assigned. Most discussion of electric rates revolve around a simple, fixed “$.xx/kWh” measure that mask the increasing cost & complexity of today’s generation, transmission, and distribution systems.

This will be a hybrid meeting, with in-person and virtual attendees welcome. Virtual attendees will receive a Teams invitation prior to the meeting.
