DIGITAL CROSSROADS TOUR

IEEE Calumet Section will tour Digital Crossroads Data Center located in Hammond on May 1st, 2024. Digital Crossroad started out with a 105,000-square-foot building that replaced the existing coal-fired power plant just south of Chicago which was completed in 2020. (https://www.nwitimes.com/news/local/new-lakefront-hammond-data-center-at-capacity-to-expand/article_c6414c66-d5b6-11ee-a918-a7f7e7922812.html) reports the existing facility is full and so the company plans to add another 180,000 sq ft building and 20MW in the second phase. The site can reportedly support up to 100MW via a dedicated substation.
Customers of the facility reportedly include a ‘publicly traded firm with a global presence’ and a ‘top 10 content delivery network client’.
Attendance is limited to 20 people. Also there are no late registrations or walkins allowed. Everyone needs to reserve due to security at the Data Center. Also please have photo ID with you on the day of the tour as you will be required to show on the way in.
