Micro Tutorial: Introduction to Bash Shell Scripting/Programming for Engineers
May 18, 2019 @ 14:00 - 20:00
Co-sponsored by: Sharan Kalwani
***CANCELED***
This tutorial is to help engineers understand some of the basics of shell script programming (aka shell scripting), and hopefully to introduce some of the possibilities of simple but powerful programming available under the Bash shell. The name is an acronym for the ‘Bourne-Again SHell’. In the Linux world, the shell is a macro processor which allows for an interactive or non-interactive command execution. Scripting allows for an automatic commands execution that would otherwise be executed interactively one-by-one.
Do not despair if you have not understood any of the above Bash Shell Scripting definitions. It is perfectly normal, in fact, this is precisely why you are should attend this Bash Scripting tutorial.
