Chapter IV Trident – Past Events

NEWS:  TRIDENT AWARDED 2012 OUTSTANDING CHAPTER

Chapter IV of IEEE Southeastern Michigan Section (Trident) has received the “2012 Outstanding Chapter” award from the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques (MTT) society, one of the four societies represented by the chapter. This recognition is a result of the tremendous efforts invested in 2012 by our officers, particularly the efforts of Dr. Lora Schulwitz, Vice Chair of Technical Activities for MTT in the chapter.  The attached plaque was presented to Dr. Schulwitz at the MTT Chapter Chair’s meeting at the IMS 2013 symposium held earlier this year in June 2013 in Montreal, Canada. Celebrating Maxwell’s Equations: 150 Years.  In 1865, James Clerk Maxwell published A Dynamical Theory of the Electrodynamic Field, which featured the original set of what is now referred to as Maxwell’s equations. 150 years later, as part of the 2015 International Year of Light, proclaimed by the UN General Assembly, many scientific communities around the world are holding special events to honor the contributions of James Maxwell and his 1865 treatise to our understanding of light and electromagnetism. In partnership with IEEE, Electrical & Computer Engineering @ Michigan hosted a special celebration that included guest speakers, a demo competition, and open discussion with a panel of experts.
