IEEE Iowa-Illinois Section & Computer Society Meeting – Saturday, Feb 24, 2024
IEEE Iowa-Illinois Section & Computer Society Meeting – Saturday, Feb 24, 2024
QC Elite Robotics Team 648 competes annually to inspire its Quad Cities high school participants to be future engineers and scientists. Each January, teams across the country receive a robot kit, and must design and build a robot over the next two months to compete against robots from other teams in the region, leading to the international competition. Each year’s contest is new, requiring distinctive robot behaviors. QC Elite has completed its 2024 robot design and build. The team will be testing the new robot Saturday, Feb 24, as the dates for competition approach. This year’s team includes about 15 students and engineer advisors. This meeting will be informal, watching students put the finishing touches on the robot. The IEEE St. Ambrose University Student Branch is treating the team to pizza for lunch. Feel welcome to bring along family members or a young aspiring scientist or engineer. The team will display and explain the mechanical, electrical, and programming features of this year’s robot that distinguish it from past competitions.
