The Evolution of Underground Distribution Switchgear

Over the past few decades, there has been an evolution in the underground distribution grid. This has led to more and varied switchgear options for users. In this presentation, we will take a look into how and why underground distribution grids have changed. As well as an overview and comparison of the different switchgear insulation technologies used today.

Josh Cherun, S&C Electric Company

Josh Cherun is a product manager at S&C Electric Company. He is responsible for managing the lifecycle and roadmap for S&C products such as PMH and PME Pad-Mounted Switchgear, S&C Custom Metal-Enclosed Switchgear, Omni-Rupter® switches, and Alduti-Rupter® switches. Josh is an Electrical Engineer, and has worked at S&C for over 17 years.
