Overview of Dissolved Gases-in-Oil Analysis (DGA)

Review of how the test is performed, proper sampling container, along with methods to interpret DGA test results will be presented.

David Koehler, Doble Engineering

David received his Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from Indiana University and obtained his M.B.A.  He is the Americas Business Development Manager for Doble Engineering Company. He has 20 years of experience in the testing of insulating liquids and management of analytical laboratories.  He has provided numerous technical presentations and published technical articles within the power industry.  David was the 2022 Vice President for IEEE Member and Geographic Activities (MGA), and is a member of IEEE’s Honor Society: HKN, while having served on IEEE’s Board of Directors for three years.  David was the Director of Region 4 in 2019-2020.  He is a member of the ASTM D-27 Technical Committee on Electrical Insulating Liquids and Gases, and a past Executive Committee Member of the Indiana American Chemical Society.
